Session Drum Multimic contains nearly 8 GB of drum samples. Each drum has been recorded from different microphone positions - close, overhead and room - allowing you to dial in just the right amount of each. For added realism, each drum also includes 'bleed' samples, which let you mix in the ambient resonance of the snare. You can choose a variety of sticks, mallets or brushes and even different types of kick drum beaters.
Session Drums Multimic includes 14 Drum Rack presets. Within the Drum Racks, each drum and microphone has a separate channel, so you can conveniently mix, add effects and swap drums to customize your kit. For instance, you can load up a brush kit, replace the snare, play the ride cymbal with a mallet, drop the close mics out of the mix (leaving just the overhead and room mics), add a little bleed to the mix from the mic placed below the snare, tune the kick drum down a bit, or customize any other way you can imagine.

The 4.5 GB of sampled drums in this Pack are divided up into 8 Drum Racks. Each Rack represents a complete kit captured in a great-sounding acoustic space, reminiscent of classic recordings of the past.
The individual Drum Hits include kicks of various sizes played with felt or plastic beaters as well as snares, sidesticks, rim shots and toms.
The ride, crash, splash and china cymbals as well as the hi hats come in a variety of sizes and articulations played via the pedal and tip or shank of the stick. Tambourine and cowbell samples are also included.
The 8 kits load as Drum Racks with 8 Macro Controls for tuning, envelope and EQ for each individual Drum Hit. Each drum in the Drum Rack also has its own channel and can therefore have its own effects and routing.

A convolution reverb takes a sample from a real-world space (called an impulse response or IR) and uses this to digitally simulate the reverberation of that space. 'Only a convolution reverb can capture the ambience of a real space, or real hardware, and recreate it on a computer,' explains Ableton sound designer Christian Kleine. Using convolution reverb, you can apply the characteristics of real-world spaces to any audio material, all without the the cost of travel or having to find a power outlet for your synth inside an ancient stone tower.
