Mar 17, 2013 Quantizing in Garageband Betty Widerski. Describes how to use the Quantize feature in GarageBand to tighten up the performance of notes entered using a MIDI keyboard or other MIDI instrument. Hi all, New here, have lurked the board for about a month or so. Recently got an iPad Pro 12.9, looking for good rec’s for some type of DAW. I have the Korg Gadget, am somewhat proficient in Garageband, and have a decent amount of synths and stuff. How to get started with GarageBand on Mac, iPad and iPhone. By Chris Barraclough. 21st March 2017. The use of 3D Touch on the iPad Pro and iPhone 7 is really nice as a way of simply adding.

You can quantize all MIDI Regions in your Project at once:

  • Select all the Regions (Key Command command+A in the Main Window)
  • Open the Piano Roll Editor (Key Command E)
  • In the Inspector on the left select a Quantize value in the Time Quantize popup menu.
  • All the Regions are now quantized to that value

Secondly, how i determine what goes on in a particular section of the song?? Like i want something else to play say 3mins into the song, you know, kinda like a hook or something like that?? Cos so far its pretty much copy paste thing.😕

This is a very generic question and I'm not sure you understand the basic concepts of Regions along a Timeline.

  • If you want to play/record something at 3 min, put the Playhead there and record something or copy new Regions to that place.
  • If you have other Regions at that place , select them and move them to the right (later) along those Tracks.

Hope that helps
